| Villa Amelie is located 500m from the small agricultural village of Miliou. This sleepy village has a large coffee shop serving simple meals but not many other amenities. However a supermarket is only 2km away and there are restaurants within 3km. This villa offers peace and natural beauty and is an ideal base from which to explore this historic and beautiful island.
Miliou is a small agricultural village, where farmers grow citrus fruit, grapes, almonds, tobacco and olives in neat rows across their orchards. Around the village are plenty of traditional farmhouses, and plenty of Byzantine monasteries and churches to explore.
Polis, 13km away, is a lively town, with excellent amenities and a wealth of tavernas, restaurants and bars. At the heart of the town is a picturesque pedestrian area that functions as a lively meeting point from early morning till late at night.
Polis is served by the charming fishing port of Latchi, which stretches along 3km of coastline with a sand and shingle beach. The turquoise waters and gentle breezes make Latchi beach an ideal place for a quiet, relaxing day in the sunshine. Latchi’s main attraction is the pretty fishing harbour, which offers an unrivalled selection seafood restaurants and boat excursions to explore the Mediterranean marine life.
Miliou is also a great base for exploring the stunning Akamas Peninsula nature reserve. This area is ideal for ramblers, water-sport enthusiasts, or families simply wishing to relax in an unspoiled natural environment. The Akamas nature reserve boasts breathtaking scenic beauty, from the coastal cliffs of Cape Pomos to the pine and cedar forests of the Paphos Mountains.
The closest golf course is Tsada Golf, about 40km away towards Paphos. Also available in Cyprus are horse-riding schools with organised treks which operate in many parts of the island.
